PSG welcomes Nantes
The champion PSG welcomes Nantes at the Parc des Princes in a game from the 16th round of the Ligue 1. These are our soccer matches tomorrow previews for this clash in the French capital. Are you ready?
With a game in hand, PSG are leading the Ligue 1 standings with 33 points, being 5 points ahead of the second Olympique Marseille. The champions are the only team in the French elite which is still about to record its first draw – they have 11 points and 3 losses in their games so far.
In their last match in the league Thomas Tuchel’s boys recorded their 11th win for the season. PSG hosted Lille and comfortably beat them with 2-0 at home. Tuchel put Kylian Mbappe on the bench, but picked Neymar among the starting eleven. The Argentine striker Mauro Icardi opened the score for the hosts, while Angel Di Maria doubled their lead after an assist from Julian Draxler. PSG’s performance in this game was not shiny at all, but the champions did what they have to do – win the three points.
For PSG this is going to be a first game since their 2-2 draw against Real Madrid in the Champions League. The Parisians are in a good shape right now, so they are obvious favourites against Nantes on Wednesday.
Nantes are doing well this season. They are 6th in the Ligue 1 standings with 23 points, but being on par with the 4th Montpellier. If they continue to perform this good, Nantes would have a realistic chance to fight for a place in the European competitions next season.
In their last game Nantes celebrated their 7th win in the league. They hosted Toulouse at home and secured a 2-1 win. Abdoulaye Toure from a penalty kick and Ludovic Blas scored for the hosts.
