France and Portugal

Four years after the Euro 2016 final in Paris, France and Portugal will meet again at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis. This time in a game from the Nations League. Let’s preview it in our soccer predictions for this week. It shall be a great spectacle for all football fans.

The situation in Group 3 is really easy to understand – Portugal and France are both leaders with 6 points each, so most likely they will continue to fight for the first place until the very end. That’s why these two matches when they face each other will be really important. Right now Portugal are ahead because of goal difference, but the situation could change quickly on Sunday.

During the week France reminded us why they are the reigning world champions. Didier Deschamps’ team faced Ukraine at the Stade de France and celebrated a stunning 7-1 win. Why stunning? Because Ukraine are not a bad team, not at all.

At the same time Portugal faced Spain in Lisboa in another friendly game, but the match ended without any goals from both teams. Selecao had some chances to score a winner, but they didn’t have enough luck to do it.

We believe the Portuguese manager Fernando Santos had his attention to the game in Paris during the entire week. Players like Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix and Nelson Semedo started from the bench against Spain and we suspect he’s going to use them against Les Bleus on Sunday.

That’s our soccer predictions for this week for the Nations League’s game between France and Portugal in Paris. Come on, you don’t need this advertised to you – these are the current World and European champions against each other. This game is bound to be great. Both teams have some spectacular players who are capable of extraordinary things with the ball.
