Rangers host Young Boys

Rangers host Young Boys at the Ibrox Stadium in a match from Group G of Europa League. Let’s say something about this game in our Europa League predictions.

Rangers are playing to win this group. Steven Gerrard’s team is leading the standings at the moment with 8 points, being one point ahead of the second Porto. A win on Thursday would guarantee them the top position, no matter of what will happen in the other match between Porto and Feyenoord. It has been a pretty good performance by Rangers so far in the competition, especially given the fact that their manager is still very unexperienced. This is Gerrard’s just second season as a manager, but he’s doing well.

Two wins, two draws and one loss – this is Rangers’ record in Europa League so far. Their only defeat came against the team they are going to face next – Young Boys.

On October 3 Young Boys hosted Rangers in Bern and beat them with 2-1. The Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos opened the score for the Brits, but after the break Assale and Fassnacht scored for the Swiss team and secured the win for the hosts.

Young Boys still have a chance to reach the knockout phase, but they will need a favour from Feyenoord as well. The Swiss team can progress with a win or a draw against Rangers, but depending on how Porto will do against Feyenoord in the same time. They must hope that the Dragons will suffered a defeat against the Dutch team.

In our Europa League predictions we believe that both Rangers and Young Boys will go hard for the win on Thursday. The Scottish team will want to win the group, while Young Boys will also play for the win and they will listen what’s going on in the other game in the group. Maybe a small miracle could happen for them? We’ll see.
