Southampton won one point from its first two games this season. The Saints made a 0-0 draw with Burnley in the first round, which was followed by a 1-2 defeat during the visit to Everton. Last season Southampton barely survived, so now Mark Hughes has the task to stabilize the team’s performance and make it more solid.

Last season the Saints didn’t have much of a success, giving the managerial job to the Argentine Mauricio Pellegrino. He was sacked during the season, being replaced by a hardened veteran in the business like Mark Hughes.

Leicester City kicked off their campaign with a loss against Manchester United at the Old Trafford, but in the second round the Foxes enjoyed a 2-0 win over the newcomers Wolverhampton. Matt Doherty from Wolves scored himself an own goal, while James Maddison added one more for the former champions.

Last season Leicester enjoyed a midtable finish in the league, so if now Claude Puel’s boys can repeat this performance, it surely would be good for them.

Southampton could be without Mohamed Elyonoussi and Jannik Vestergaard for this game. They are both recovering from their latest injuries.

Leicester can’t use Jamie Vardy, Matthew James and Caglar Soyuncu, while Shinji Okazaki will have a late fitness test. These are the problems the manager Claude Puel has to deal with.
