Spanish company gave over 1 billion for the Italian championship

Spanish media Mediaspro acquired the rights to broadcast the Italian football championship for 1.05 billion euros per season. It is expected that the next step of the Spaniards will be the resale of matches to Sky Italy and Mediaset for the seasons between 2019 and 2021, as well as the creation of its own TV channel for the League.

The deal did not go without scandals after Skye called on the League to reject MediaPro’s offer and end the negotiations immediately because the Spanish company “will not function as an independent media.”

It was Skye and Mediaset who got the rights to the previous contract, but the League and MediPro have the intention of radically changing the weekend program. Triple matches will be played from the previous sets of matches. One for 16:00 Bulgarian time on Saturday, as already required, 19:00 on Sunday and 21:30 on Monday.

The international show of Series A was recently sold for € 370 million a season.
