Surprise! Almost sure transfer to Barca failed

The allegedly almost secure transfer of Brazilian talent Arthur from Gremio to Barcelona has failed, Marca reports. Barca’s representatives met the agent of the footballer and the Brazilian club leaders, but the talks did not go as the Catalans had hoped. No agreement has been reached on issues relating to the 21-year-old mid-adult remuneration and commission payments.

Another potential issue that has blurred Barca is that in January 2019, when, according to the initial expectations, Arthur was about to play at Camp Nou, the los cules could have no room for another a player outside the European Union. Currently, the quota for players outside the EU is filled with the presence of the team of Philippe Coettinho, Paulinho and Jeri Mina. Although Koutinhoo is expected to get an EU player status at some point, there is no guarantee that there will be room for Arthur in the squad.
