Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolverhampton Wanderers will enter the pitch at the Molineux to face Besiktas in a match from the last round of the group stage of Europa League. These two teams are part from Group K of the competition. Here are our Europa League predictions for it.
Wolves already qualified for the next phase of the tournament, but now they have a chance to win the group as well. The English team is just one point behind the leader Sporting Braga. In the other game Braga will face Slovan Bratislava and Wolves will hope that they are going to lose points.
Nuno Santo’s team started its Europa League campaign with a loss against Sporting Braga in the first round, but after this they went unbeaten – three wins and one draw. This run allowed them to qualify for the knockout phase.
Because of the importance of this match, it won’t be surprising if Nuno Santo use some of his main players against the Turks. Surely he has some interesting options before this game on Thursday.
As for Besiktas, they don’t play for anything here. They are fourth in the group with three points and they are already out of the competition. On theory Besiktas can beat Slovan for the third place, but it won’t change nothing for them – they will still leave Europa League.
After suffering four consecutive losses in the group, Besiktas finally won a game in this group. This happened in the previous round then they beat Slovan Bratislava with 2-1 at home. But how we would say – it was already too late for them to start winning points.
In our Europa League predictions we expect Wolverhampton Wanderers to dominate this game and win against Besiktas. Will this allow them to win the group, too? Well, it depends on what’s about to happen in the other game in Bratislava.
